This semester in Ceramics 1, I made a tea set with a flower surface design. From the very first day of walking into ceramics class, I immediately knew I wanted to make a tea set or a tea pot at the very least. I chose to carry out this idea because I went to London a few years ago and one of my favorite parts of that trip was going to afternoon tea. I decided to add flowers because I tend to choose clothes with floral patterns and it just feels like a go-to. All of my pieces are wheel thrown including the spout and lid to my teapot. Something unique that I did was making my own flower stamps to add to my body of work. All of my pieces were dipped in white glaze with the flowers painted different colors.I also wanted to display three abstract mugs that I explored glazing in dip glaze with. With these mugs I also played around with the design of the lid, making them into squiggles and hearts. I couldn't be happier with how this collection has turned out.
